Ear Lobe Repair
Ear Hole Tightening

Many women have ear piercings. As they get older, these piercing holes get more extensive and wider. The procedure to correct this is known as ear lobe repair. Ear hole repair surgery (also called earlobe restoration) is a simple in-office surgical procedure that can be performed to fix earlobe tearing, stretching, or sagging.

Why is it needed?

If the ear piercing holes are huge, it is difficult to wear earrings properly. Sometimes, the hole can extend all the way to the ear margin causing a cleft.

How is ear lobe repair done?

It is a simple procedure performed under local anaesthesia.

An incision is made around the ear hole on both sides, and the gap is closed with sutures. The sutures are removed after 1 week.

A new ear piercing is made after a month once the site has healed.

Is it possible to close the hole partially to avoid piercing again?

This is not advisable, as the repair won’t be strong and the chance of the hole enlarging again is very high. It is preferable to close it fully and then pierce again.
